Andrew was a native of our parish here at Sutton and was educated first at our Primary School here before going on to Blythe Hall when it was the Juniorate. Born on August 31st 1923, her served in the parish as an altar server and remained so until he left home.- Eventually he went to the Novitiate in Broadway where he was professed in October 1941 and then came back to Sutton for his student days. With his other classmates he was ordained here on our Holy Founders Feast, April 28th 1947, His first appointment after Ordination was to the teaching staff at Blythe Hall and in the years that followed he served terms as Rector of Ilkley, Sutton and Blythe Hall as well as being for a time a member of the Provincial Curia. His forte was always in administration and he was always at home in an office. For personal reasons he decided to join the American Province in the 80’s and we were all shocked to hear of his sudden death on February 19th last year. His body was brought back to Sutton and his funeral took place on February 26th here in the place where he was baptised and ordained. This was just two months before he would have celebrated the Golden Jubilee of his Priesthood. May he rest in peace. Liverpool B.C. Archdlocesan Trustees Inc, Registered Charity No, 232709
