Introduction
From the first English foundation at Aston Hall in 1842, St Joseph's Province established retreat houses and mission centres across England and Wales. Each house maintained its own Platea — the official community register — and contributed to the apostolic work of the Passionist Congregation in Britain. The pages below document the history of each house drawn from primary sources held in the Provincial Archive.
The archive also holds records for the proposed Liverpool foundation of 1847–1850, which became St Anne's Retreat, Sutton.
