What is a Platea?

The Platea is the official register of a Passionist community. Each house in the Province maintained a Platea recording the formal life of the community: its foundation and history, appointments and departures of Rectors and members, religious professions and ordinations, deaths, Visitation reports, missions and retreats given, and major events in the life of the house. In addition to the individual house Plateas, a Province Platea was kept for St Joseph's Province recording province-wide decisions and appointments.
