Fr. Brendan Ivory (1866-1890) Father Brendan of the Sacred llearts. The Proviriee of St.Jdoseph in England Joses by this good Father's death a most fervent priest who by his virtuous life and great attainments gave every hope of a useful and honourable career, lle. was porn in Treland in April 1856 and was called Daniel Ivory. At the age of nineteen he joined our Congreration and professed the holy vows on the 26th of August 1885. Having creditably passed the course of studies he was ordained priest, On the very day of his ordination he felt for the first time internal pains which daily increasing indicated too clearly that he was suffering from the ineurable disease of eonsumption which in the course of a year took away his life. He was only twenty-four years of age, of which he had spent six years in our Congregation in the practice of exemplary vir- tue.
