His sermons were always thoroughly prc pared and there was a freshness and vividness about their delivery, that held the attention of his audience, after some years on constant and Retreat work Fr. Dominic was appointed Rector of the Passionist House in Musseluge in Eastern Scotland. It was he, more than anybody else, who, through sherr hard work and constant visitation of the peoplem built up the now thriving parish of near by Prestonpans. Later, after serving for some years as Vucar in St. Mungo’s Retreat, Glasgow, Fr. Dominic came to Holy Cross Retreat, ardoyne and was on parish work here since 1956, Until the last few years he worked hard in his section of the perish and was a very constant visitor to the homes. To those who were sick or in trouble he brought great consoliation and when he knew any one of his perishoners had not long to live he tried to spend as much time as possible with that person. The women of the parish will remember for long his untiring zeal in keeping the members of a active € eWFRAT RAM Ty of the Saerep. St. ann’s Guild increased in number under his capable guidance and the members are for ever grateful for the great interest which he took in the Guild. Fr, Dominic has been in failing health for the past few years, During all this time he still took great interest in all parish affairs and would have loved to continue his work among the people for whom he had such a high regard, Because of his illness he was unable to walk any distance, He was an example to 211 of us in the Manner in which he bore his suffering. Havirg received 211 the last Sacraments on Monday evening Fr, Dominic passed very peacefully to his reward at 8.00 a.m. on Tuésday October 12th 1971. Those of us who lived in the Community with him knew him as an zealous priest and a true Passionist. His quiet manner and his good sense of humour endeared him to those among whom he lived, In the midst of all the troubles of 1971 he prayed for the people of the parish and felt sad that he would not be in their midst in their hours of trial, Fr. Timothy and Fr. Honorious, two good friends of his had already died since last Christmis and as in thei case, so in his, the tension caused by the troubles hastened his dexth. May he rest in peace.
