Fr. Henry Kielty (1924-1998) St. Anne and Bl Dominic Monastery Lane, Sutton, St. Helens, at Merseyside WAI 35P Passtonists Yel (0744) SLI935. Fax: (09744) 820557 FR. HENRY OF THE SORROWFUL MOTHER (KIELTY) Fr. Henry died suddenly on January Ist 1998 at our Monastery at Louisville in America. He had ‘emigrated’ to the American Province in 1973 and his death was a great sadness to all who knew him. Born in Navan, Co. Meath on April 24th 1924, he was the middle of the three brothers who became priests in the province. He was professed at Broadway in January 1944 and ordained at Sutton by Archbishop Downey in 1950. While in England he was in several communities, was Vicar at Minsteracres and served for a term as Rector at Broadway and at Highgate. All who knew Henry, knew of his approachability and kindness and the Province was lessened by his decision to go to America. While in England he had been Lector to the Philosophy students and had experience of Mission work. While in Highgate he organised lectures for non-Catholics which bore great fruit. He was a man dedicated to his Priesthood and his Passionist vocation and was a true Passionist because in his _ fife he had to endure carrying the cross in very sad ways and so there was great suffering in his life. While I have not seen him for many years, | look forward to being united with him in Heaven whither I hope he will draw me by his prayers. May he rest in Peace.
