Absense from the Retreat did not in any way lessen the fervour of this edifying religious. He had a great devotion to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and although it mist heave cost him mich pain on account of his infirmities, he continued to celebrate almost to the end. In bearing with such edifying patience and resignation the suffering which. - - care to him at the close of his life, he was comforted and consoled by hig love of the Sacred Passion which was his daily thought. The privilege of passing from this life on one of the principal feasts of our Blessed Lady was one of the rewards of his tender devotion towards and filial confidence in the Mother of God. ; Although his duties kept him away very often from the retreat, on his return he always mariifested a great love of observance, and he made the annual retreats with such fervour as to be a source of much edification to his brethren.
