His health seemed, if anything, improved during the Holy Week of * thie year. He took part in 011 the Holy Week services; attended hie ' Gonfessional on Holy Saturday, and showedsigns of renewed health and , Vigour on Baster Sunday and Baster Moriday, Early on Tussday, however, | he became very 111 and was unable to celebrate Holy Maes on that day, |’ In the afternoon a further attack ecoured, and he then, of his om i> geoord, asked fox the Last Sacraments, «These ware administered by Fr. But medical skill could not save him: God's oall had come, ¢. He passed away péescefully on Wednes- Gay, April 12th, at 2.45 pom. | Born at Mountmelliok on guly 219t 1861, Janes Curran, as he was then known, came from a family which gave many members to the Religious State. Two of hie brothexs were Redemptorists. Another brother, Fr. Stanislaus, of our own Congregation, died in 1918, Two of hie sisters are mung: one in the Lovete Order, and the other in the Congregation of the Sisters of - the Grose and Passion. a ¥e, Richard entered the Passioniat Congregation at Broadway, where he was profeseed on Sept. 17th 1902, Begining hia ecolesiastioal studies at Mt, Avgus, Dublin, he completed them at Rome, where he was ordained on Odtober 16th 1905. During hie priestly life, he filled various offices of the Congregation, amongs other, being Reotor of St. Paul's Retreat 1920423, and of Holy drose Retreat 1923426, In these offices he dis- piers dant kindly consideration and oharm of manner which #6 endeared im to hie brethven. He always took care that the wants and comfort of ali were seen to, and he was ever yeady in patience and charity to help those who needed his care and attention, But,14 was as a Confessor, a Preachey, and a Missioneyx, that Fry Richard will best be remembered, His services were aagerly wought after by those priests who knew him,
