Fr. Wilfred Priestman (1842-1868) FATHER WDLFRED OF TT SACRED HEART OF JESUS (Priestman) ' ,.The deeth of Father Wilfred of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, @lias William Priestman... took place on 19th. March, 1768, at the residence of his family in Richmond, Yorkshire, where he was sent some time previously by the Superiors for a change of air. _ His Geath was oecegioned by consumption. His ilimess extenced over a Long pepiod, and during that time he bore it with edifying submission to the Holy Will] of God. He retained all his faculties to the last and received the last Sacranents with edifying piety a few hours before he expired from the hands of the Rev. fr, Willian Strickland, $.J., essisted by his con- frere, the Rev. John Milner, of the same Society: Fsther Wilfred was attended by one of our bay-brothers during the time he was stopping out of the Retreal, and his remains were interred in the cemetery of St.anne!s, Sutton. He was born of 21st. May. 1842, end received his eGucation in St. Cuthbert's College, Ushaw. He received the Holy ttabbit on oth. November, 1861, and was professed on 7th. November, 1862 in Broseway. After his profession he entered on his studies with fervour and assiduity and, though always weakly anc delicate, he made considerable progress end was found to be in all respects equal to the other members of his class. He never lost his tine and when his health so far failed as to render hin incepeble of studying, he employed his time in painting and drawing - accomplishnents which he possessed in no smell degree. The charaeter of his mind was simple, refined and highly religious in tome. He was pious without ostentation and exact in the discharge of all his religious duties....."
